Tray icon and closing
HIZTESTI sits as an icon in the icon area on the right of the taskbar (the system tray). Closing the window doesn't close the app.
When you close the window
When you close the window with the ✕ button, Alt+F4 or Ctrl+W, HIZTESTI keeps running in the tray, and a running test isn't interrupted.
If you don't want that, turn off Keep running in tray when closed in Settings (it's on after installation). With it off, closing the window quits the app.
The tray icon
Left-click the icon to show the window. While a measurement runs, hover over the icon to see the current speed. If you can't see the icon, click the ^ arrow on the taskbar; hidden icons are there.
Right-click it for this menu:
- Open HIZTESTI — shows the window
- Start Test — starts a measurement (it becomes Stop Test while one runs)
- Quit — closes the app
Test finished notification
If a measurement finishes while the window is hidden or minimized, you get a notification. If the window is open you already see the result, so no notification is sent.
Quitting the app
Press Ctrl+Q, or right-click the tray icon and choose Quit.
If a test is running at that moment, a confirmation titled A test is running appears: if you close now, this measurement stops and isn't saved. Choose Cancel and the measurement continues.
